Housing Requirements
The environment that you create in your store for lizards must be very similar to their natural habitat. Factors to consider are heating, lighting and humidity requirements; the size of the enclosure and lizard; whether the lizard is arboreal (lives in trees) or is a ground dweller; compatibility considerations; and the substrate material.
Because requirements (particularly for heat and humidity) vary widely, you should research the needs of any species in your care and—when possible—crosscheck recommendations between different sources. Understanding of how best to maintain lizards in captivity has increased dramatically in recent years, so more current resources are likely to offer better advice.
